Organ Donation Program

The Organ Donation Awareness Program and the Students’ Charter initiative were inaugurated at Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital under the leadership of the Dean of KMC and the Member Secretary of TRANSTAN, the Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu.

The event brought together more than 200 students, who actively participated through heartfelt poems, creative artwork, and awareness activities that highlighted the profound impact of organ donation and the gift of life it offers to patients in need. As a mark of gratitude and respect, students also paid homage to organ donors and cadaver donors whose selfless contributions continue to advance both medical care and medical education.

A key highlight of the program was the formation of the Students’ Charter, through which students collectively voiced their commitment to promoting awareness about organ donation and encouraging greater public participation in this life-saving cause.

Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital has consistently contributed to brain-dead organ donation initiatives through dedicated grief counselling, compassionate communication with families, and coordinated multidisciplinary support. By guiding families with empathy and sensitivity during critical moments, the institution continues to uphold the noble mission of organ donation and life-saving transplant care.
